Bloodshot eyes or red eye is a condition of the eye in which tiny blood vessels over the surface of the sclera of the eye become congested. It is a symptom of many eye diseases, not itself a disease. The sclera is a whitish portion of the eye that makes the two-fifths of the anterior surface of the eyeball. Tiny blood vessels nourished this whitish portion of the eye and supply oxygen as well.
